Gleaning
A news segment about gleaning, a process where produce like potatoes and collard greens that look damaged but are perfectly fresh get collected. At farms or farmers markets, volunteers from church groups and food banks gather these “ugly” foods, which then get sent to local food banks.

Written and produced by Shermian Lim. Filmed and edited by Mallie Kim.

Come and take a walk through the streets of downtown D.C. and discover the many street musicians performing outside busy Metro exits and sidewalk corners; always there to entertain pedestrians and Metro riders alike.
